The Task Board lives in your client (the task board icon). Every day it offers 5 tasks — each asks for a number of kills of one creature and pays experience and hunting points.

Tasks are picked from what people at your level actually hunt

The server doesn't draw monsters in the dark: it looks at real telemetry — what players in each level band actually kill — and offers creatures from that band. The table below is that measurement, in monster rank (the server's ruler, from #1 weakest upward). Where there isn't enough play yet, the value is an estimate and is marked as such.

The rank is the server's power ruler: #1 is the weakest creature in the game and the top is the strongest. Rank 38 at your level means "a monster around a Troll's level".

Difficulty

The selector at the top of the board picks how far above average you want to hunt: Beginner gives you what most of your band kills comfortably, Master gives you what only the best take on. Raising the difficulty also raises the number of kills (15 → 25 → 40 → 60) and the reward. Changing the difficulty re-rolls the day's tasks.

Rules

The big task

The sixth card of the day is the big one: it takes any creature and is sized at 4 hours of hunting — not a guess, but the measured pace of kills per hour of players at your level. In the level 15-24 band, for instance, the measured pace is 190 kills per hour — that day's task asks for 760.

Its reward is a piece of equipment, drawn from the ones players at your level drop the most (12 candidates per band). The quality is rolled when you claim it — that is why the board shows the piece but never the quality: if it came decided, you could re-roll the tasks until a super showed up.

The week

The Weekly tab of the same board is the long haul. At the start of the week it asks for a difficulty and then hands you 6 kill tasks — 5 creatures from the same curve as the daily plus one for any creature — and 6 deliveries of materials. The week turns over on Monday.

Deliveries

Each delivery asks for a monster product that the creatures in your band really drop — leather, bone, meat, feather. The amount comes from the drop chance: the target is always ~25 kills of work, so a common item comes in a big pile and a rare one in a small pile. Just carry the items in your backpack and the Deliver button lights up — the board takes the pile right there.

Multiplier

Unlike the daily, the weekly reward is automatic: the experience lands on the kill that closes the task (or on the delivery). What builds up is the points multiplier, which rises with the total tasks done in the week — 0+ tasks = ×1 · 4+ tasks = ×2 · 8+ tasks = ×3 · 12+ tasks = ×5 · 16+ tasks = ×8. When you finish the whole set, the board asks for a difficulty again and hands you a new set: the week's counters keep adding up, and that is how the multiplier gets past ×3.
